Your bookmark library stays in Chrome.
Local title and URL search and timeline browsing do not require an account or an upload of your complete library.
Local bookmark data and preferences
Rewind reads Chrome bookmarks to show titles, URLs, folders and saved dates. Browser storage holds interface preferences and local activity. In builds with Today’s rewind, it also holds bookmark identifiers, the daily batch, review decisions and the dates when pages become due again. Archiving from that inbox excludes a page from resurfacing; it does not delete its Chrome bookmark.
Optional study exports contain aggregate counts, not bookmark titles, URLs, folder names, page content or search phrases. They are not sent automatically.
Preview metadata and images
Displaying a card can send that individual bookmark URL to https://proxy.rewind4.com for public metadata. A returned image can load from its original website or image host, which receives a normal network request. Chrome’s favicon access supplies browser-known site icons. Search and date browsing remain usable when previews fail.
Optional connections
Optional link observation asks for browser navigation access only when enabled. An optional local assistant connection uses 127.0.0.1 to return matching bookmark titles, URLs and folders to an assistant you configure. A cloud assistant may process the search and returned matches on its own service. Connect only an assistant you trust with that information.
Outside-link discovery and hosted paid services are not part of the public extension interface.
Control and third-party sites
Removing Rewind removes its access to Chrome bookmarks. Local extension state can be cleared through browser extension storage controls. Opening a saved link takes you to a third-party website under that site’s terms and privacy policy.
The extension does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising trackers or ad injection.
